The door is too small, in both width and height to meet code. You would think, as a door manufacturer, that the customer would be notified if dimensions do not meet code. The approval design sheets require you to add and subtract dimensions in order to determine the door size, as appose to the sheet just indicating the door size. We made an assumption that the door itself would at least be 36 inches wide × 78 inches tall (36x80 is standard). It was not.
I understand proof drawings were sent, and we approved. Based on that alone, we've chosen to just throw the door away.
The keypad opener did not have screws to attach it to the door so we had to go fabricate and buy some longer screws to attach
The rubberized glazing that bonds or fills the two pieces of metal together around the parameter of the door jam was scattered, and Skip jumped in between every single joint… In other words, it was not taped off and smoothly applied, so we’re having to re-tape and smoothly trial in the black silicone in between the two pieces of metal
The door slab as it fits inside the door jam has a quarter inch gap on the hinge side all the way up to 5/8 towards the top and has no option to square up the jam with the door slab
Just so you know, there is proper reveal on the top bottom and strike side of the door. It’s just the hinge side of the door that’s out of whack in relation to the jamb
We ordered our pivot door in June and were updated throughout the entire process and was delivered in September by Estes delivery service. It arrived perfectly packaged in a large solid wooden crate with no damage. Our family and friends love it! Thank you for our beautiful orange red pivot door! It makes our house so grand!
MOST GORGEOUS DOOR! Incredible quality. Worth the wait. Cannot wait to see it installed. It is going to upscale the entire house. The packaging for transport was above and beyond. The delivery service had clearly hit the door transit enclosure and put a forklift through part of it and the door was so carefully enclosed that there was no contact made with the door itself.
